Prof. Lucia Gastaldi from the University of Brescia, Italy, visited our group in September 2024 and again in January-February 2025.

A leading expert in finite element methods, Prof. Gastaldi specializes in solving eigenvalue problems arising from PDEs and fluid-structure interaction (FSI) problems.

During her visit, she delivered a talk at the Mathematics and Applications Colloquium on September 10, 2024, discussing the latest developments in 'Finite Element Approximation of Interface Problems and Extensions to FSI.'
